Mosaic of national flag unveiled in Truong Sa

The Vietnam Prosperity Commercial Bank (VPBank) presented a ceramic mosaic of the national flag to Truong Sa Island district in the central province of Khanh Hoa on June 6.
The mosaic is 25 metres long, 12.4 metres wide and weighs 3.5 tonnes.
The nation’s flag is made up of 310,000 ceramic pieces and will be placed on the roof of the Island ’s conference hall.
The work was designed by artist Nguyen Thu Thuy and made by craftsmen in Bat Trang pottery village in Hanoi .
Earlier, Vietnam ’s Guinness Book of Records recognised the ceramic national flag as the largest of its kind in the country.
To mark the occasion, VPBank has granted 15 scholarships for the relatives of soldiers stationed on Truong Sa island.-VNA

Vietnam Prosperity Joint Stock Commercial Bank (VPBank) and Truong Sa Island authorities inaugurated a giant size ceramic national flag on June 6 in Khanh Hoa Province.
The giant ceramic national flag measures 25m x 12.4m and weighs 3.5 tonnes. The flag was made of 310,000 ceramic pieces at the Bat Trang ceramic village in Hanoi.
The work was designed by artist Nguyen Thu Thuy and made by craftsmen in Bat Trang pottery village in Hanoi .
The artwork has been recognised as the largest ceramic national flag by the Vietnam Book of Records.
On this occasion, VPBank offered 30 scholarships to students in Truong Sa Island and children of soldiers who work on Truong Sa Archipelago.
